We Are Expanding Our Team

We are currently looking to expand our board of directors. These positions are volunteer roles that seek talented professionals who are willing to donate their time, talent, and treasure.  Our board of directors are driven by a passion for youth betterment and a commitment to making a difference. We believe in fostering a collaborative and inclusive organization environment that encourages thought leadership, initiative, and growth.

Treasurer

Responsibilities

The board treasurer shall oversee the management and reporting of the monies of the organization. The treasurer also needs to make sure board members can access the financial reports in a timely manner. They shall be one of the officers, along with the president or vice president to sign checks or drafts of the organization.

 

The treasurer:

  • Manages the budget

  • Provides a written account of the finances of the organization and such repot shall be affixed to the minutes of the board of directors

  • Chairs the finance committee, assists in preparation of the budget, help develop fundraising plans and make financial information available to the board members and the public

  • Partners with the board president to ensure the financial reports are continually updated

Social Media Specialist

Responsibilities

The board social media specialists work to ensure proper representation of multiple social media platforms. They work closely with the board of directors to oversee the implementation of social media campaigns that align with participant’s enrollment, programs, events, and other organization initiatives. They are responsible for writing post captions, taking photos or creating other content for social media platforms.

The social media specialist:

  • Develops and implement the organization’s social media strategy

  • Encourages greater social media participation

  • Identifies opportunities to influence public perception through audience engagement

  • Manages social media for impressions and brand awareness

  • Possesses knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook

  • Understands social media KPIs, web traffic metrics and SEO

  • Demonstrates familiarity with publishing and web design

Member At-Large

Responsibilities

The at-large board members are just as important as nonprofit board positions for officers, as all board members have equal responsibility for the board’s actions and decisions.

 

At-large board members are expected to fulfill the following duties:

  • Attend all board meetings

  • Engage in board meetings actively

  • Serve on at least one committee

  • Donate to the board annually

  • Support board decisions even when they voted against them

Grant Writer

Responsibilities

The board grant writer is responsible for finding funding opportunities for the organization and writing polished proposals to earn grant money. Their duties include researching deadlines, drafting grant requests and submitting reports for approval.

 

The grant writer:

  • Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies

  • Drafts grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization

  • Responds to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals

  • Maintains positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders

  • Maintains records and submit reports related to grant opportunities

Young Adult Liaison

Responsibilities

The board young adult liaison is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and knowledge for the organization from a young adult’s perspective. This position guides the development and implementation of initiatives, activities, and programs that are designed to enhance relatability with the organization’s participants.  The ideal candidate for this position should be between the age of 18-23.  Past participants are encouraged to apply for this position

 

The young adult liaison:

  • Assists with developing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive youth programs and organization initiatives

  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with participants, mentors, volunteers, and board of directors

  • Helps with planning, coordinating, and evaluating activities and events
